FABRICS REQUIRED:
3/4m - 1m for main stocking body theme 1
3/4m - 1m for main stocking body theme 2
1/2m for contrast toes and heels to match each theme
1/4m for appliqué embellishment 1 (could use scraps from a previous project)
1/4m for appliqué embellishment 2 (could use scraps from a previous project)
51cm x 11cm (approx.) for cuff

These quantities are guides only and the actual amount of fabric required greatly depends on your fabric choices.

FABRIC SUGGESTIONS
This pattern is designed for fabrics with no stretch.
Medium weight fabrics work best for the main body of the stocking, i.e. cotton canvas, calico. Alternatively, you could interface a lighter weight fabric like quilting cotton.
For the contrasts and appliqués, a light-medium weight is best, i.e. quilting cotton or linen blends.
Faux fur works great for the cuff - although you could also experiment with other fabric choices here.

NOTIONS REQUIRED:
2m Bias Cut Piping for each theme, either ready made, or homemade.
20cm Sew in Velcro 20mm wide.
Co-ordinating polyester thread.
Contrasting (or even metallic) thread for embellishments and appliqués (optional).
10 sets Snap fasteners - plastic snaps, or sew on poppers. (Note: we will not use one half of 5 of them.)
Fusible Web for appliqué.
Lobster clasp and other notions to make a charm i.e. pom poms, bells (optional).
30cm ribbon for hanging loop.
