I’ve been itching to make the Saturday skirt set by Friday pattern company since it was released but was waiting for the right fabric to come along when I spotted this beautiful viscose twill at Jenny’s, this fabric has a crepe texture to it and is very fluid and drapey but perfect for this make.
I love the colours in this fabric perfect for spring and it has quite a weighty feel to it so perfect for swishing!.
I did find it easier to work with using my trusty spray starch particularly on the blouse to make sure I attached the collar precisely but I didn’t need it for the skirt. The blouse is quite cropped so I lengthened it by 2.5 inches and 1.25 inches on the sleeves, I am 5’10 for reference, I didn’t lengthen the skirt and am happy with the finished length on me.
There is the occasional peek of midriff but I think I can still get away with it and I can see myself making more of this set for the summer, it’s a perfect little co-ord for a day out or a stroll around town.
